Highways Operative

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Highways Operative to work with our client based in Gateshead. This is a full-time role working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Overview: The role holder will be responsible for carrying out a range of highways maintenance works, including repairs, improvements and general upkeep of highways infrastructure. Main Duties: * Carrying out highways maintenance works including tarmac repairs, resurfacing and reinstatement works * Undertaking kerb laying, footpath repairs and flagstone laying/repairs * Completing general highways repairs and maintenance tasks to a high standard * Working as part of a highways team to deliver works safely and efficiently * Operating hand tools and equipment relevant to highways works * Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures * Supporting with general highway improvement and maintenance activities Essential Criteria: * Previous experience working within a highways environment * Full UK driving licence * Experience and knowledge of all aspects of highways work, including tarmac, kerb laying, footpath repairs and flagstone laying/repairs * Experience using relevant tools and equipment * Ability to work effectively as part of a team * Good understanding of health and safety requirements If your skills match the above criteria, please apply with your up-to-date CV
