Heat Treatment OperativePay: £14-£16 per hour (depending on experience)Job Type: PermanentWe're looking for a Heat Treatment Operative to join the team. This is a hands-on role working in a specialist area of production, processing thin gauge aluminium parts used in the aerospace industry.What the role involvesLoading and unloading aluminium components into heat treatment furnacesRunning heat treatment processes (e.g. solution treatment, ageing, annealing) to set instructionsMonitoring temperatures, timings and process cycles to make sure parts meet specQuenching and cooling parts safely using the correct methodsChecking and recording process data and job informationPreparing parts before and after treatment (cleaning, handling, moving between stages)Working to route cards, work instructions and production schedulesCarrying out basic inspections and supporting quality checksKeeping the work area clean and organised in line with 5S standardsFollowing all health & safety procedures at all times(Typical duties in similar roles include operating furnaces, controlling heating cycles, quenching materials, and ensuring parts meet aerospace quality standards.) [uk.jooble.org], [wtalent.com]What we're looking forPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment (heat treatment experience is ideal but not essential)Understanding of production processes and working to instructionsAny experience with heat treatment, furnaces, or metal processing would be an advantageAbility to read basic job sheets, drawings or route cardsGood attention to detail - especially around quality and traceabilityComfortable working in a production environment and handling componentsBasic computer skills for recording jobs and dataReliable, hands-on and able to work as part of a teamThe roleThis is a shop floor-based role, so you'll be working closely with production and quality teams day to day.
