Fife has a strong marine and fabrication labour market, with long term shipbuilding activity in the wider area, including the Rosyth Type 31 Frigate Programme led by Babcock.The work is expected to suit candidates who are used to working in structured engineering environments with high standards around safety, quality and productivity.Key dutiesFCAW welding on fabrication and heavy engineering workWelding plate, structural steel and fabricated assembliesReading and working from engineering drawings and weld proceduresPreparing materials and checking work before weldingProducing consistent welds to required project standardsWorking closely with platers, fabricators and production teamsFollowing site safety, quality and housekeeping proceduresExperience requiredStrong FCAW / flux core welding backgroundExperience in shipbuilding, fabrication, marine, defence, manufacturing or heavy engineering environmentsAbility to read drawings and follow weld proceduresComfortable working to production and quality targetsPrevious coded welding experience would be beneficialAbility to pass a weld test if requiredThis is a long term PAYE opportunity with further details available once suitability has been confirmed.To apply, please send your CV and a brief note outlining your FCAW experience, current location and availability.TPBN1_UKTJ
