Regular travel throughout the region requiredSummary of RoleYou will be responsible for overseeing and managing small-scale fire sprinkler installation, maintenance, and modification projects across the Midlands, South Wales, and South West of England. Based in the Birmingham office, this role ensures compliance with British Standards, manages client relationships, coordinates technical teams, and leads a team of designers and project engineers to deliver high-quality fire protection solutions.What you will be doingLead and manage team of designers and project engineers, providing mentorship, allocating workload, conducting performance reviews, and fostering high-performing cultureManage end-to-end delivery of small works sprinkler projects from assessment through completion, coordinating with clients, contractors, and stakeholdersPrepare quotations, scope of works, project specifications, and monitor progress while resolving technical or operational issuesEnsure all sprinkler systems comply with BS EN 12845 and relevant British Standards and regulationsConduct site surveys and assessments to determine sprinkler requirements and support designers in developing compliant, cost-effective solutionsReview technical drawings and specifications for accuracy and complianceOversee installation quality and ensure proper commissioning of systemsBuild and maintain strong client relationships, providing technical advice on fire protection solutions and coordinating with facilities management teamsLiaise with insurers, fire authorities, and certification bodies as requiredEnsure work complies with health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and verify contractors hold appropriate certifications (BAFSA, LPCB, etc.)Maintain accurate project documentation, certification records, and financial recordsManage project budgets, control costs, process invoices, and identify value engineering opportunities without compromising qualityWhat we will need from youProven experience in fire sprinkler systems management or building operationsDemonstrated experience leading and managing technical teamsStrong knowledge of UK fire protection standards and regulationsProject management experience in facilities or property managementIOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualificationFull UK driving licence & willingness to travel regularly throughout the Midlands, South Wales, and South WestStrong leadership and people management skillsExcellent technical problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and stakeholder managementAttention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyCommercial awareness and budget management skillsCoaching and mentoring capabilitiesWhat you can expect in returnSalary competitive and negotiable25 days holiday plus bank holidays and option to buy 5 daysContributory company pension schemeCar AllowanceLife AssuranceHealth care schemeHours: 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8.45 - 16.40, Friday 8.45 - 16:00)Location:On-site -Birmingham, GBRAt Hall & Kay, we harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to efficiently accelerate meaningful connections between candidates and opportunities.
