Job Description Key Objectives Take ownership of the full design process, from initial concept through to detailed technical design and delivery of the creative vision Deliver high-quality design solutions within a Small and Medium (SME) focused team, across a varied project portfolio Work as an integrated member of the project team to develop design solutions that meet client needs and push creative boundaries Consistently produce high-calibre creative responses to client briefs, contributing to successful pitches and business wins Key Responsibilities Conduct site surveys and produce base build drawings, support building control submissions, and prepare design risk registers for each project Present design concepts through mood boards, visuals, and supporting materials for pitches and client presentations Work closely with pre-construction and project leadership teams to ensure designs align with agreed client budgets Present and pitch design solutions to clients, independently or as part of a wider team Maintain strong client communication, ensuring clear, transparent, and responsive service throughout projects Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers regarding technical details, product availability, and cost information Prepare technical drawing packages for construction, including O&M information, as-built drawings, and finishes schedules Contribute to wider team success by sharing ideas, insights, and design perspectives Research new products, materials, furniture, and industry trends to inform design development Act as account manager on selected projects, leading the brief, concept development, specification, cost planning, and delivery through to completion (with support from senior management where required) Required Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar project/design role within a relevant sector Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and InDesign Ability to communicate design ideas through hand sketching or digital modelling (SketchUp preferred) Strong conceptual and creative skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience working within fit-out and furniture budgets Understanding of how design concepts translate into technical delivery packages Basic awareness of relevant industry legislation and compliance considerations Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills
