Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer with both Mechanical & Electrical experience to repair, service, and maintain production equipment and site infrastructure using appropriate tools and materials. This role is critical to ensuring minimal disruption to operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and supporting continuous production within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.The successful candidate will play a key role in responding to breakdowns, maintaining equipment performance, and supporting operational changes such as equipment reconfiguration, while ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out production breakdown maintenance, repairing or replacing equipment in line with the breakdown request system.Carry out PPM on machinery and equipment.Accurately record downtime and associated data for all maintenance activities (Excell & Word)Keep stakeholders informed of progress, timelines, and expected outcomesMinimise disruption to production and maintain strong working relationships across departmentsEnsure all activities are conducted in compliance with Health & Safety regulationsService and maintain production machinery and site infrastructureReconfigure and reposition manufacturing equipment and services to support changes in production flowPrioritise tasks effectively and work to agreed schedulesManage workload within a production environment in a calm, methodical mannerOrganise and coordinate contractors and suppliers as requiredManage inventory within the workshopUnderstand and apply internal and external quality standardsIdentify and resolve equipment and process issues efficientlyUse Continuous Improvement methodologies to enhance effectivenessFollow all work instructions, safe working procedures and company policiesHandle and store materials safely to prevent harm or damageMaintain a safe, compliant working environment at all timesWhat We Are Looking ForTime-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, or equivalent Level 2 NVQ/BTECExperience working within a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of job-specific Health & Safety legislationStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to issuesEffective communicator with the ability to provide regular updatesAbility to work independently and collaboratively across departments and sitesOrganised and able to manage multiple priorities effectivelyMethodical and calm under pressureExperience in breakdown maintenance and equipment repairUnderstanding of production processes and quality standardsAbility to manage resources and prioritise workload efficientlyWhy Join UsBe part of a dynamic and collaborative manufacturing environmentPlay a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and driving continuous improvementOpportunity to work across multiple departments and gain broad exposureSupportive team culture with a focus on safety, quality, and performanceOpportunities for development and progression within the engineering functionWe understand there's no one size fits all approach.
