Employability TutorThe organisation has a fantastic new opportunity for an Employability Tutor to deliver engaging study programme learning to young people, helping them build confidence, employability skills and recognised qualifications for future progression.If youve also worked in the following roles, wed also like to hear from you: Study Programme Tutor, Functional Skills Tutor, Further Education Tutor, Vocational Tutor, English and Maths Tutor, GCSE Tutor, Skills Tutor, Training Tutor, Lecturer, Vocational TrainerSALARY: £27,000 pro rata + BenefitsLOCATION: Part-Time, TemporaryJOB TYPE: Part-Time, Temporary ContractWORKING HOURS: 32 Hours per WeekJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic temporary opportunity for an Employability Tutor who is passionate about supporting young people to develop the skills, resilience and confidence they need to succeed in education, employment and life.Working from the centre in Hornsea, you will deliver practical and engaging learning across Entry Level to Level 2 programmes, including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths. As the Employability Tutor you will support learners from initial assessment through to successful completion, helping them progress into employment, apprenticeships or further education.This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a recognised teaching qualification, experience delivering learning to young people in a Further Education or post-16 setting, and the ability to create positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environments.DUTIESYour duties as the Employability Tutor will include:Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging employability and skills-based teaching to post-16 learners across Entry Level to Level 2 programmesEnglish and Maths Delivery: Teach Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths, supporting learners to build confidence and achieve recognised qualificationsLearner Progress: Monitor progress, complete initial and ongoing assessments and set individual learning targets that support successful achievementLesson Planning: Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, individual learning plans, resources and learning activities that meet learner needsEmployability Development: Embed work readiness, behaviour, social skills, equality and diversity into teaching, learning and assessment activitiesAssessment Support: Organise and support assessments, coursework, examinations and learner evidence in line with quality and compliance requirementsPastoral Support: Provide tutorial and pastoral support, helping learners overcome barriers, stay engaged and progress positivelyRecords and Compliance: Maintain accurate learner records using ICT, MIS and tracking systems, ensuring administration is timely, complete and accuratePartnership Working: Build effective links with apprenticeship tutors, external organisations and partners to support learner outcomesQuality Improvement: Contribute to course reviews, curriculum development, standardisation meetings and ongoing improvements in teaching practiceCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALPGCE, Certificate in Education, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent recognised teaching qualificationMinimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational specialist subjectExperience teaching young people within a Further Education, post-16 or similar learning environmentExperience teaching English and Maths up to Level 2, Functional Skills and/or GCSE levelAbility to plan and deliver programmes that meet individual learner needs within a group settingExperience embedding employability, social skills, English, Maths, equality and diversity into teaching and assessmentStrong classroom management skills, including the ability to manage conflict and maintain positive behaviour standardsHighly organised with good time management, written communication, verbal communication and digital skillsCommitment to safeguarding, learner wellbeing, inclusion and high-quality educationDESIRABLEExperience working with learners with varying behaviour management needs and barriers to learningExperience designing, planning, tracking and monitoring teaching, learning and assessment activity in line with Ofsted standardsBENEFITSDedicated weekly administration day with the opportunity to work remotelySmaller class sizes, enabling you to build positive relationships with learners and provide personalised supportA supportive and collaborative curriculum team that values innovation and wellbeingAccess to funded professional developmentGenerous annual leave, plus access to a range of employee wellbeing benefits30 days annual leave pro rata + bank holidaysExtra annual paid leave for your birthday, a mental health day, and up to 5 volunteering days4% Contributory Pension SchemeLife InsuranceCycle to Work SchemeEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP) a wide range of free and confidential services for you and your immediate family (including counselling sessions)Charity Employee Discount SchemeThis role requires an Enhanced DBS CheckAPPLY TODAYBy submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.JOB REF: AWDO-T14953Part-Time, Temporary Contract Teaching Jobs, Careers and Vacancies.
