Senior Mobile Developer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000

Our client is an established software business with a long-standing reputation for developing innovative products used by thousands of customers across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they're looking to recruit a Senior Mobile Developer to join a close-knit development team responsible for delivering and maintaining high-quality cross-platform mobile applications.

This is a hands-on senior development role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving application performance and working across both mobile and backend technologies.

Working as part of a collaborative development team, you will:

• Develop and maintain commercial mobile applications using .NET MAUI and Xamarin.
\n
• Investigate and resolve issues across both mobile and backend codebases.
\n
• Design, develop and enhance new functionality.
\n
• Build high-quality, maintainable and scalable code.
\n
• Optimise application performance and improve existing components.
\n
• Work closely with fellow developers to deliver projects within agreed timescales.
\n
• Contribute ideas and technical improvements across the development lifecycle.
\n
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practice.
\n

We're looking for an experienced developer with most of the following:

\n
• 6+ years' commercial C#/.NET development.
\n
• Recent commercial experience building applications with .NET MAUI and/or Xamarin Forms.
\n
• Strong knowledge of the MVVM design pattern.
\n
• Commercial experience with XAML.
\n
• Experience developing custom controls and UI components.
\n
• Experience using custom renderers and/or handlers.
\n
• Experience integrating or binding third-party native SDKs into Xamarin or .NET MAUI applications.
\n
• Excellent debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
\n

• Native iOS development experience.
\n
• Native Android development experience.
\n
• ASP.NET Core or other .NET web technologies.
\n
• Performance optimisation of mobile applications.
\n

You'll be a proactive, hands-on developer who enjoys solving technical challenges and takes pride in delivering high-quality software. You'll be comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where everyone contributes and ownership is encouraged.
