Linux QA Engineer

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a super-sharp Test Engineer to work in our Agile development teams. You will be working in a great atmosphere on stimulating projects with other talented test engineers. We will need you to provide high quality testing services to the engineering team, working with other testers assigned to a project. You will be working closely with developers and the product owner. Out testing work involves gaining a deep understanding of the product so that you can focus your testing activities.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities:

• Gain a deep technical understanding of the product you are testing to a developer level
\n
• Working with developers, other testers and product experts, write effective and efficient tests
\n
• Carry out both formally scripted and exploratory testing
\n
• Actively participate in sprint planning and other project group activities
\n

Essential Skills And Experience:

Essential

\n
• Minimum three years’ experience working as a tester
\n
• Demonstrable ability to write efficient and effective manual tests
\n
• A strong interest in the technical side of information technology and software development
\n
• Working knowledge of Ubuntu or other Linux distributions
\n
• Use of defect tracking tools (Jira, Xray)
\n
• Comfortable using command line tools
\n
• Debug / troubleshooting skills
\n
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
\n
• STEM degree or similar equivalent qualifications
\n

Desirable

\n
• Demonstrable experience with networking
\n
• Knowledge of vulnerability management and CVE best practices
\n
