Required from: 1st September 2026Contract term: Fixed TermHours: Full Time or Part Time, Term Time OnlyWe are seeking to appoint two compassionate, organised and proactive Teaching Assistants to provide dedicated support for a student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).The student is bright, friendly, gentle, loves learning and has a complex profile of social, emotional and sensory needs. The student has a diagnosis of autism, ADHD, DCD and hyperacusis and presents with a disordered profile of social communication and language strengths and needs.This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a students educational experience, wellbeing and independence within a supportive school environment.The RoleThe successful candidates will provide tailored support throughout the school day, including during lessons, transitions, break and lunch times, clubs, school trips and extracurricular activities.Working closely with teaching staff, parents and external professionals, you will help ensure the student can fully access the curriculum, develop independence and feel secure, included and supported in all aspects of school life.The role will involve collaboration with a range of professionals including:Occupational TherapistsSpeech and Language TherapistsAutism Advisory TeachersPlay TherapistsClinical PsychologistsPhysiotherapists and other external agenciesKey ResponsibilitiesProvide consistent emotional, social and academic support throughout the school daySupport communication, organisation, planning and engagement with learningPromote independence and inclusion at all timesSupport transitions between classes and activitiesProvide supervision and support during unstructured times, including break and lunchAssist with clubs, PE provision, physiotherapy programmes and school tripsSupport the student with emotional regulation using a calm and attuned approachMonitor progress and maintain detailed recordsAttend and minute meetings relating to the studentLead and coordinate aspects of the EHCP review process, including liaison with the Local AuthorityWork collaboratively with school staff, parents and external professionalsOrganise staff training and contribute to risk assessments where appropriateUndertake any additional administrative tasks as directed by the SENDCo/Head of NASHThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsA patient, empathetic and flexible approachStrong organisational skills and attention to detailThe ability to remain calm, observant and responsive in a busy school environmentA genuine commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and student-centred supportExperience supporting students with autism, ADHD, sensory needs or social communication differences would be highly desirable.This role may occasionally involve attendance on school trips, including possible evening or overnight stays.Safeguarding responsibilities apply to this role and successful applicants will be subject to enhanced safer recruitment checks.About Oxford High School:Since its foundation over 140 years ago in the heart of Oxford's historic city centre, Oxford High School has been innovative and pioneering in its approach to girls' education.Today, Oxford High School is a happy and vibrant place to work: our girls are highly motivated and ambitious, supportive yet self-aware.
