Job Description
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
\nWorking Pattern: Monday, Tuesday & WednesdayHours: 8:30am – 4:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
\nWe are seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team for three days per week. This role is ideal for a skilled practitioner who can work independently, support teaching and learning across the school, and provide class cover when required.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes under the direction of teaching staff. \n
- Provide planned class cover in the absence of the class teacher. \n
- Support pupils to achieve their academic, social, and emotional potential. \n
- Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, prepare, and evaluate learning activities. \n
- Assist in assessing, monitoring, and recording pupil progress. \n
- Support the implementation of intervention programmes and targeted support. \n
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment. \n
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school policies and procedures. \n
Essential Requirements
\n- \n
- HLTA qualification or substantial experience working at HLTA level. \n
- Proven experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting. \n
- Confidence in leading whole-class learning and managing classroom behaviour. \n
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. \n
- Ability to work independently and use initiative. \n
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. \n
