Role Description

A well-established independent accountancy practice in Southend is looking to add an Accounts Semi-Senior to its growing team.

This is a broad general practice position supporting a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

You’ll be involved in accounts preparation, VAT, corporation tax and self-assessment work, with the opportunity to build stronger relationships with clients as you develop. The firm offers a friendly, modern working environment with plenty of support and scope to progress.

What you’ll do

\n
• Prepare year-end accounts for a varied client portfolio
\n
• Complete VAT returns and bookkeeping reviews
\n
• Prepare corporation tax and personal tax returns
\n
• Assist clients with digital accounting and MTD
\n
• Deal with routine client queries
\n
• Communicate with clients to obtain records and resolve queries
\n
• Work closely with senior colleagues and managers
\n
• Help support less-experienced team members when required
\n

What you’ll need

\n
• Around 2–3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
\n
• AAT qualified, part-qualified or studying towards Level 4
\n
• Experience working with sole traders and limited companies
\n
• A comfortable and professional approach to client communication
\n
• Further professional study is welcomed but not essential
\n
