Senior Electrical Design Engineer - HV PlantLocation: North England (hybrid with travel to offices and site visits)Salary: up to £70,000 (+ benefits)Position: PermanentA leading UK engineering services provider is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer - HV Plant to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the power sector. With a strong pipeline of transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects, they are looking to expand their design team with an experienced engineer.In this role, you will take the lead on the design, drawings, and calculations for HV/EHV substation primary plant systems. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, undertake site surveys, and provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to detailed design.Key ResponsibilitiesLead HV/EHV substation primary plant design projects, ensuring delivery to quality, time, and budget requirementsDevelop and review engineering drawings and documentation, including general arrangements, layouts, and single line diagramsPerform design calculations such as busbar sizing, short-circuit analysis, cable sizing, and switchroom assessmentsPrepare and review technical specifications for substation plant and associated equipmentCarry out site surveys and provide technical support to site teamsParticipate in design reviews, hazard assessments, and client meetingsIdeal Background & SkillsDegree in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineProven experience delivering HV/EHV substation primary (plant) design projectsStrong understanding of substation layouts, plant equipment, and design calculationsAbility to work independently on technically complex projectsGood commercial awareness and experience working within project constraintsThis is a strong opportunity to join a growing organisation and play a key role in the delivery of major UK energy infrastructure projects.If you're interested in exploring this role further, please apply.
