Mechanical Design EngineerRole: NPI / Electro-mechanicalSalary: £45,000£55,000Location: South CambridgeshireAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design or Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established and innovative product development company. The company specialises in the design and development of electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation, taking products from initial concept through to full-scale production.You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, leading the transfer of R&D concepts through to manufacturable products as well as factory testing activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by working on cutting-edge R&D projects and optimising concepts for seamless manufacturing.Key Responsibilities:Take R&D concepts to a manufacturable productEnsure designs are optimised for manufacture and assemblyLead factory acceptance testing3D CAD designBuild and test prototypesWork closely with a cross-functional R&D team across electronics, software, and systemsParticipate in design reviews, problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement initiativesSkills & Experience Required:Strong background in developing electro-mechanical systemsExperience in taking at least two products to manufacture is a mustTooling, jigs and fixture designDFM and DFMA experienceStrong 3D CAD design skills - SolidworksStrong understanding of manufacturing techniquesKnowledge of semi-automated/automated production lines is advantageousIf youre looking to join a business that values creativity, quality and innovation, then apply with a copy of your CV.TPBN1_UKTJ
