Principal Electronic EngineerWarwick | £70,000 – £80,000 | Permanent | Relocation Package AvailableThe OpportunityWe are looking for a Principal Electronic Engineer, or an Electrical Engineer with strong electronics design experience, who can lead and inspire a small team of development engineers. You should have a strong background in electrical or electronic design for demanding vehicle or industrial environments. This could include sensor and instrumentation design, or broader vehicle electronics and systems integration experience gained at OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers such as JLR, Perkins, Caterpillar or similar. If you're someone who naturally brings people with you and has electrical or electronic hardware design experience for heavy vehicle, off-highway or industrial applications, we would very much like to hear from you.This role is recruiting on behalf of a globally operating manufacturer of precision fluid level sensing systems, part of a large multinational group with manufacturing facilities across the UK, USA, Europe and Asia. Their products are deployed in some of the world's most demanding heavy vehicle and off-road environments, supplying major OEMs across construction, agriculture, heavy truck, mining and industrial markets.This is a newly created senior role at their UK site near Coventry. You will lead and develop a small team of development engineers, playing a key technical role in electrical and electronic product design, working across development from electronics architecture through to production launch.A relocation package is available for the right candidate.The RoleLead, mentor and inspire a small team of development engineers, driving them forward and helping them meet development timelinesContribute to the architecture and development of next-generation liquid level sensing systems for heavy vehicle and off-road environmentsSupport electrical and electronic design across the product lifecycle, from architecture and signal conditioning through to validation and production launchDeliver robust, high-performance designs for extreme environments including wide temperature ranges, high vibration, mechanical shock, EMI/EMC noise and chemical contaminationDrive product development execution ensuring engineering rigour across architecture, design, prototyping, validation and production readinessOperate within automotive-grade development processes including APQP, DFMEA/PFMEA, DV/PV validation and IATF 16949What We Are Looking ForA natural leader with the ability to engage, motivate and drive a small engineering team forwardStrong background in electrical or electronic design engineering, either sensor and instrumentation products or broader vehicle/industrial electronics and systems integrationDeep expertise in analogue and mixed signal circuit designExperience with sensing technologies such as guided wave radar, capacitive sensing, ultrasonic measurement or industrial/automotive instrumentation is an advantage, but not essentialDemonstrated ability to design electrical or electronic systems for harsh operating environments including wide temperature ranges, high vibration and industrial exposureFamiliarity with automotive-grade quality processes including APQP, DFMEA/PFMEA and IATF 16949Hands-on prototyping skills including PCB assembly and troubleshootingExperience in heavy vehicle, construction, agricultural or off-highway equipment markets is highly desirableEmbedded firmware development in C/C++ and automotive communication protocols including CAN and LINEMI/EMC robust design and complianceDegree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experienceWhat Is On Offer£70,000 to £80,000 per annumRelocation package available for the right candidate25 days holiday annuallyCompany pension schemeLife assuranceA genuine leadership role with global product impact across construction, agriculture, mining and commercial vehicle marketsINDHTPBN1_UKTJ
