Role: Mechanical Design EngineerLocation : KeynshamType : Full-TimeSalary : £40,000 - £45,000About the clientThis Keynsham-based client is a leader in innovative engineering solutions. They design and deliver cutting-edge machines that promote efficiency and excellence globally.The RoleWe're seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to develop equipment concepts and schemes that create competitive advantage and can be constructed and commissioned safely and effectively. Produce general arrangements, detail drawings and material schedules which are clear, accurate, cost effective, and meet the requirements of the specificationKey ResponsibilitiesReport problems and deficiencies in the design brief, and develop pragmatic cost-effective solutionsSuggest solutions to problems based on an understanding of the relevant technologiesProduce technical information, drawings and associated schedules and documents, taking due account of health & safety requirements, designs, specifications and standards relating to the contractMaintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of the contractEnsure that such design solutions compliment and support the manufacture and assembly processes and assist in driving best practice throughout the businessEnsure as built specifications are recorded, and system function is tested and proven prior to commissioningEnsure that products are designed to meet customer expectations, but with modularization and standardization as key focusesIdentify opportunities to continuously improve the performance & reliability of existing equipment through innovative design improvements, and where appropriate the use of new emerging technologiesSupport visits to customers as required, to help achieve sales, commission & test machines and resolve problemsDeal with specifiers and/or suppliers & distributorsEnsure that all statutory and company procedures & practices are maintainedWork with and support other departments to ensure business objectives are achievedRequirements:Educated to BSc level or equivalent, or proven capability in a relevant disciplineExperience in mechanical design, preferably in bespoke engineeringProven experience of using CAD/PDM packages, specific experience of SolidWorks/PDM desirableKnowledge of CE and Health & Safety legislationUnderstanding of continuous improvement techniquesCurrent driving license and passportFor further details, please contact Nick Sollis – 01453 829767 or email your cvOmega Resource Group are an employment agency specialising in opportunities at all levels within the Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Defence, Scientific, Oil & Gas, Construction and Manufacturing sectors.We are always seeking Engineering Staff, Senior Managers, Skilled and Semi-Skilled Machinists, Mechanical Fitters, Electrical Fitters, Quality Engineers, Materials Science Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, Electronics Engineers, Test Technicians, Technical Authors and Laboratory Technicians to name but a few.Omega is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
