Job Description
The Role- Permanent- Full TimeJob Purpose / SummaryKnowlton and Newman, part of the Rubix Group, provide 24/7 engineering services. We repair, overhaul, install, and maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic equipment and cover a wide range of industrial equipment for customers across multiple sectorsKey Responsibilities- Ensure workflow procedures are followed.- Operate various machines tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies.- Record all data necessary to produce and expected service and/or design results including sizes and illustrations.- Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, and conventional milling and lathe work, using various engine lathes (e.g., horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring lathes).- Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.- Perform various metalizing (metal spraying) techniques as needed.- Understand materials and applications as required.- Set up and perform tool-post grinding operations (e.g., precision surface facing), broaching procedures, and Babbitt bearing work.- Perform various welding operations, including setup and use of MIG, TIG, torch and stick welders.- Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and/or to observe safety precautions.- Use various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools, including but not limited to band saw, belt sanders, hand grinders, files, etc.- Ensure that all company H&S policies and procedures are followed to ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues.- Promote a culture of working safely as routine.TPBN1_UKTJ
