Job Title: Field Service EngineerLocation: UK-based with international travelTravel: Majority overseasWere currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting projects on a global scale. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on-site, commissioning equipment, and seeing projects through from installation to final handover. The position involves significant international travel and will play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating as intended across customer sites worldwide.As a Field Service & Commissioning Engineer, you will:Carry out on-site commissioning activities across international customer sitesPerform device setup, I/O checks, and software fault findingSupport installation, testing, and final system handoverWork from and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and process drawingsFollow structured test procedures and complete documented testingCarry out device calibration and system validationIdentify and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and process systemsWork closely with internal engineering teams and customer representativesWere looking for a Field Service Engineer with strong commissioning and fault-finding experience: You will ideally have:Experience in commissioning or field service engineering within the process engineering industryStrong understanding of process engineering principlesExperience with device setup, I/O checks, and software fault findingThe ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, GA drawings and P&IDsExperience following documented test procedures and structured testingKnowledge of device calibration and validation processesStrong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilityA flexible approach and willingness to travel internationally for extended periodsThe successful Field Service & Commissioning Engineer will ideally hold the below qualifications:Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)Time-served apprenticeship or similar practical trainingPrevious experience working within a relevant engineering or process environmentWhats on offer for the successful Field Service Engineer:Competitive salaryTravel allowances and expenses coveredOpportunity to work on international projectsExposure to a wide variety of technologies and engineering environmentsIf you are interested in this opportunity please click "apply" or contact Lucy at Orion Reading today, thank you.Due to the volume of applications we receive, unfortunately we are not able to respond to every application personally, therefore, if you have not heard back from us within 5 working days please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
