Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team. Works within the Orthopedics team, in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of the treatment team ensuring continuity of patient care in all settings. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.\nKey Position Details:
\nThis position will support our general orthopedic practices in the northwest metro region. The float PA position will be mostly OR with clinic coverage support as needed.
\n\nExperienced Ortho PA is strongly preferred.

\nPrinciple Responsibilities

- Provides clinical care for patients\n
- \n
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments. \n
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. \n
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. \n
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment. \n
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. \n
- Refers for specialty care when determined. \n
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear. \n

- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff. \n
- Acts as resource to members of the team. \n
- Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients. \n
- Works with primary care team for program development. \n
- Participates in research activities when opportunity available. \n
- Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed. \n

Job Requirements

- Master's degree Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program required \n
- Experience post Physician Assistant training strongly preferred \n
- Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire \n
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire \n
- ACLS/BLS Tier 2-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Multisource preferred upon hire \n
- Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required \n
- Drug Enforcement Administration upon hire required \n

Pay Range
\nPay Range: $58.75 to $81.29 per hour\nThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
