Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator (UC) at Norfolk General Hospital's Surgical Unit, in Norfolk Virginia.\n
\n

Shift: Weekend Nights (7p-7a) (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)\n

5K DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW \n
\n
This 42-bed unit specializes in the care of Adult Surgical Patients. Registered Nurses are assigned to PODs to assist patients recovering from surgeries: Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, GYN Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Trauma Overflow. While working in this unit you will care for patients that have renal disease, diabetes, COPD, and heart failure for a well-rounded nursing experience. This is a telemetry-monitored unit. The average patient stay is 3-4 days. This unit also has 6 beds that are for Epilepsy monitoring and is the Living Kidney Donor Transplant Unit. Join our amazing team!\n

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.\n
\n
\n18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.\n
\n
\nBLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.\n
