Veterinary Assistant

Forest Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile assistant who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. In this position, you will take an active role in:\n

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
\n
• Monitoring anesthesia and supporting patient recovery as directed by the veterinary team
\n
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
\n
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
\n
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
\n
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
\n

Schedule and compensation:\n

\n
• Compensation: $19-23 per hour, for each hour worked
\n
• This is a full-time position with a 5/8 or 4/10 schedule and availability required on Saturdays.
\n

\n
• 1+ years of veterinary assistant experience is required
\n
• Proficiency in the following skills:\n
  \n
  • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
  \n
  • Venipuncture and administering injections
  \n
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  \n
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  \n
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  \n
  • Candidates should be comfortable participating in compassionate end-of-life and aftercare support, including operation of our on-site cremation equipment.
