Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available in Phoenix, AZ, for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This role focuses on delivering educational support and instruction to students with hearing impairments through remote communication platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct telehealth sessions tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide guidance and resources to families and school personnel regarding hearing-related educational needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school policies and legal requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience delivering instruction via telehealth or remote platforms.
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies and communication methods appropriate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and service providers.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
