Location: 32 Seymour - Bone & Joint Institute (10341)
Shift Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with obligations for weekend, weeknight, and holiday on-call duties.

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in supporting surgical procedures before, during, and after operations. Responsibilities include ensuring the availability and proper setup of surgical instruments and supplies in the operating room, assisting the surgeon as permitted by professional and legal standards, and maintaining cleanliness in the operating room post-procedure while ensuring the correct handling of equipment and materials. This position reports to the Manager.

Qualifications- Completion of a Surgical Technology Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP).
- Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
- Current CPR and BLS certification, with attendance at annual Validation Day required.
- Familiarity with various surgical procedures, with the ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs and recognize potential challenges.
- Knowledge of the names and functions of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strict compliance with policies and regulations regarding the maintenance of a sterile environment.
- Understanding of basic patient care and safety principles.
- Application of aseptic techniques to ensure optimal patient care.
- Awareness of emergency situations in the operating room.
