Our facilities operate as Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) that provide:
- Long-term care for residents needing ongoing skilled support and compassionate daily assistance
- Short-term, sub-acute rehabilitation for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury
- Collaborative care through an interdisciplinary team approach involving nursing, therapy, and medical staff
- A diverse patient population with orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-acute needs
As a therapy professional, you will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve functional improvements and enhance their quality of life in a supportive, patient-centered setting.
Position ResponsibilitiesThe Occupational Therapist will deliver direct rehabilitation care in accordance with physician referrals, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
Qualifications and Experience- Must be NBCOT certified upon hire; renewal is optional thereafter
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
- Currently registered or licensed in the applicable state, maintaining an active license in good standing throughout employment
- Preferred one (1) year of experience; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply
- CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation, with ongoing maintenance of certification
- Engage in community health initiatives as appropriate
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
- Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs
- Exhibit good body mechanics consistently
- Make independent decisions when necessary
- Knowledgeable about practices, procedures, and regulations governing post-acute care facilities
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
- Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
- Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
- Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training
- Implement occupational treatment plans for patients, focusing on activities of daily living
- Establish, assess, and adjust realistic, measurable, and functional goals
- Supervise and evaluate care provided by Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), Rehabilitation Aides, and students
- Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
- Utilize therapy software effectively
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality
- Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment in decision-making
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
- Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, and reaching throughout the workday
- Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
