\nWhat You'll Do
\n- \n
- Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients \n
- Serve as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit needs \n
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management \n
- Safely administer medications according to UHS policies \n
- Support effective resource utilization, including staffing, time, and supplies \n
- Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies \n
- Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, Unit Council, and improvement initiatives \n
- Contribute to peer review, evidence‐based practice, and quality improvement \n
- Provide support and guidance to new employees and students \n
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator responsibilities when assigned \n
- Engage in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training \n
- Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program as your expertise grows \n

Education & Experience
\nMinimum Required:

- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing \n
Preferred:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) \n
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting \n
Licensure & Certifications
\nMinimum Required:

- Current New York State Registered Nurse License \n
Preferred:

- CCRN certification \n
- Additional skills certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) \n
Work Environment
\n- \n
- Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated. \n
- Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting. \n
- Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. \n
- Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. \n
- PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies. \n
