Job Description
We are seeking a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist to become a part of our dynamic practice, which consists of five full-time board-certified OB/GYNs, three nurse practitioners, one midwife, and dedicated sonographers. You will work in a private office environment, benefiting from the extensive resources available through our organization. This practice operates as a division of a larger community medical group, aiming to deliver exceptional care, innovative treatments, and personalized service to our community. Located in Suffolk County, Long Island, our facility is conveniently situated near Stony Brook University Hospital and other local hospitals, with a dual role as a Hospitalist.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients, acting as the team leader for diagnosis and treatment.
- Gather medical histories, conduct physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and order necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Assess results from procedures and provide both preventive and acute care.
- Ensure continuity of care by developing and implementing individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients about their medical conditions, self-management strategies for acute or chronic illnesses, and customize instructions based on their unique situations.
- Guide and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens while promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Prescribe medications as needed.
- Document examinations and progress notes in the Electronic Medical Record, providing referral letters when necessary.
- Collect, monitor, and report on patient outcomes.
- Participate in shared night and weekend call coverage with fellow physicians.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Oversee the conduct and care provided by clinical office staff, including nurses, medical assistants, and technologists, as the leader of the clinical team.
- Supervise the interactions and conduct of shadowing medical students, physician extenders, and nursing interns.
- Meet quality benchmarks set by Population Health, payors, NYS DOH, or the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services.
- Follow established evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Build a patient base to generate revenue that supports salary and operational expenses.
The salary range for this position is $350,000 - $400,000 annually.
Required Qualifications- MD or DO degree.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- New York State Licensure.
- Experience in a group practice or similar setting.
- Background in OB/GYN.
- Experience with advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynecology.
