Position: Registered Nurse - Cardiology Clinic

Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift (Monday to Friday)

Location: Mount Vernon, Illinois

Compensation: $28.30 - $45.28 per hour

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will deliver direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient conditions as necessary.
• Act as the primary coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
• Execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
• Assess and manage patient discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• May accompany physicians during rounds in inpatient settings.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to inform nursing care, tailored to the specific age and clinical needs of patients.
• Adhere to professional nursing standards as outlined in our practice model, guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Demands

• Regular verbal communication is required.
• Frequent standing and walking are essential.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
• Regular use of vision for close and distant tasks, as well as color differentiation.
• Frequent auditory skills to receive communication and detect alarms.
• Occasional patient handling and mobility tasks.
• Occasional driving may be required.

Licensure and Certifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
