Operating from its modern manufacturing facility, they continue to invest in its people, processes, and equipment to maintain its reputation for quality and innovation.Due to continued growth, I am looking to recruit a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team.The Role - Mechanical Maintenance EngineerAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer , you will play a key role in maintaining and improving production machinery across the site. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for ensuring plant reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.This is a days-based role offering excellent work-life balance and the opportunity to work on a variety of manufacturing and automated equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing and production equipmentRespond to mechanical breakdowns and diagnose faults efficientlyMaintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, rollers, pumps, and motorsWork on pneumatic and hydraulic systemsConduct machinery inspections and condition monitoring activitiesSupport machine installations, modifications, and improvement projectsRead and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationAssist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actionsEnsure maintenance records and documentation are completed accuratelyWork closely with production teams to maximise equipment availability and performanceMaintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeepingWhat We're Looking ForNVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical EngineeringPrevious experience within manufacturing, production, woodworking, furniture, FMCG, packaging, or industrial environmentsStrong mechanical fault-finding and repair skillsExperience working with hydraulics and pneumaticsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsProactive and hands-on approach to maintenanceGood communication and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of continuous improvement methodologies would be advantageousWhat's On Offer?£35,000 - £45,000 basic salary (DOE)Monday to Friday days roleExcellent work-life balanceOvertime opportunities availableStable and growing manufacturing businessOngoing training and developmentLong-term career prospectsIf you're a mechanically biased engineer looking for a stable days-based role with a well-established manufacturer, we'd love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
