Junior Mechanical Engineer / CNC TraineeSalary: £22,000 - £27,000 DOE (Junior / Entry Level)Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:45am - 5:00pm | Friday 7:45am - 12:45pmHoliday: 20 days + Bank HolidaysChristmas ShutdownOvertime: AvailableAbout the CompanyOur client is a well-established precision engineering business with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality machining solutions to customers across aerospace, automotive, rail, pharmaceutical, energy and general engineering sectors.Due to continued growth and investment in advanced manufacturing technology, they are looking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Engineer / CNC Trainee to join their skilled engineering team.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in CNC machining, precision engineering or manufacturing.The RoleThis role is ideal for a college leaver, engineering apprentice, or junior engineer with some workshop or technical experience who is keen to develop skills in CNC machining and precision engineering.You will receive training and support to learn how to set, operate and assist with CNC machinery, working towards producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in setting and operating CNC machines under supervisionLearn to read and interpret engineering drawingsSupport manufacture of precision componentsCarry out basic inspection using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)Assist senior engineers with machining and workshop tasksMaintain a clean and safe working environmentFollow health & safety procedures at all timesDevelop skills in CNC machining, tooling and production processesSupport general workshop and production activitiesEssential Skills & ExperienceBasic understanding of engineering or manufacturing (college course, apprenticeship or workshop experience)Interest in CNC machining, mechanical engineering or precision engineeringWillingness to learn and develop new skillsGood attention to detailAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a teamBasic maths and technical understandingFull clean driving LicenseDesirable SkillsEngineering qualification (BTEC / NVQ / HNC / Apprenticeship)Some experience in a workshop or CNC environmentUnderstanding of engineering drawingsBasic knowledge of machining or hand toolsStreamline Search is a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the United Kingdom.
