Supply Chain Lead

Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading aerospace organisation to recruit a Supply Chain Lead for an initial 12 month contract. There is a pay rate of up to £23.67 Per Hour PAYE or £31.74 Per Hour Umbrella on offer for the successful candidates. The role will be fulltime onsite in Portsmouth.Please find the role description below:Working within the Warship Support Maritime Services Supply Chain responsible for delivering procurement / supply chain activities associated with a defined area. The role includes supporting the development of procurement / supply chain strategies & plans, and the engagement and management of suppliers, projects and other stakeholders to deliver project/business objectives. The coaching, mentoring and development of team members to drive performance. Responsible for the day to day procurement of materials and subcontract services ensuring requirements related to cost, quality, delivery and export control are competitively achieved in line with requirements. Core DutiesSupport and/or prepare outputs and deliverables and select suppliers in line with the departmental procedures and systemsSupport and/or negotiate all commercial, financial, quality and schedule elements of contracts and any authorised changes in line with departmental proceduresPro-actively support and deliver effective supplier management and manage open order book in line with the project's integrated scheduleSupport Line Manager in delivering KPI'sIdentify and implement cost saving opportunitiesIdentify risks, opportunities and mitigation plans and implement accordinglyAct as the primary point of contact with assigned suppliers and customers (internal/external).Understand and adhere to the company Export Control requirementsBe first port of call for escalations within the Supply Chain teamMay be required to support in areas outside of this scope due to business requirementsRequired KnowledgeExperience of Procurement / Supply Chain DepartmentCommercial and contractual acumenWorking understanding of tool sets and IT (SAP desirable but not essential)Experience and understanding of MRWorking knowledge of Purchase to PayTender process and down selection experienceSimply hit the ‘Apply Now' button for immediate consideration.TPBN1_UKTJ
