Investigative Content Writer
DISRUPT. Search Studios
Shevington Moor, ENG, GB
Full Time
Job Description
About UsWe are DISRUPT. Search Studios. We are a very specialist search studio that only works with a select few partners, acting as their complete Search Engine Marketing Department. The RoleThe working world has changed, and the traditional 'content writer' role is mostly redundant. In 2026, search engines and users demand much more than basic summaries. Generic content no longer works. The defining difference between a standard content writer and what we need is accurate expertise, real-world experience, trust, and authoritativeness (E-E-A-T). That is why we are looking for an Investigative Content Writer. In this role, a key part of your day will be undertaking deep subject matter expert research. You will not simply sit at a desk and type up whatever people tell you to write. Instead, you will act like an active reporter and investigator for our clients. You will interview our clients and internal team members, asking the hard questions to extract the core facts, technical processes, and unique insights that only true experts know. You will dive deep into complex topics to verify information, challenge surface-level assumptions, and find the angles that others miss. Then, you will bring all that heavily researched information together to create highly factual, unique content that establishes our clients as trusted authorities in their fields, meeting the strict, high-quality standards of modern search engines (E-E-A-T and Y-M-Y-L).How You Will Work with AIIt is 2026, and it would be nave to pretend that content roles do not use AI. You will absolutely use AI tools to help you research and organise information efficiently. However, your job is to lead the AI, not follow it.You must challenge and teach the AI using the real facts you have gathered from our subject experts. You must never rely purely on what an AI tool outputs. This is one of the most important parts of this position. In fact, managing AI correctly is a key performance indicator (KPI) for the role. If you simply copy AI outputs rather than leading and correcting it with real facts, you will not be successful here. What You Will DoConduct deep research and interview clients and internal team members to find unique facts and details.Write factual, high-quality content that stands out because of its real-world insight and proven expertise.Switch smoothly between different client topics throughout the week.Tackle complex subjects head-on. Many of our clients work in legal, medical, or compliance-based fields. These areas need a lot of attention to detail and can be highly technical. What We Are Looking ForA proactive, enthusiastic 'people person' with excellent communication and customer service skills. This is not a role for someone who wants to hide away in a corner.Someone driven by quality who will investigate deeply and will not just 'skim the surface' of a topic. The ability to stay motivated and focused when working with heavy, detailed, or technical information.Bonus: Experience working with compliance, legal, or medical subjects, or an example of how you successfully handled the technical details of a subject you were not personally interested in.The DetailsLocation: On-site. Wigan, Greater Manchester, UK.Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 4.30pm.Salary: £25,000 to £35,000 per year (depending on experience).TPBN1_UKTJ
