Stonemason

As a Stonemason, you will play a key role in crafting and maintaining high-quality stonework across the estate. You will be responsible for cutting, shaping and installing natural stone to build and repair a variety of structures, including estate walls, farm buildings, residential properties and landscaping features. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, craftsmanship, physical resilience and a strong understanding of construction methods and materials.Location: BlatherwyckeSalary: CompetitiveBenefits: Enhanced holiday entitlement, company sick pay, life insurance, health cash plans, family friendly policies, EV/ULEV car scheme and cycle to work scheme.Hours:The role:Cut, shape and finish natural stone using both hand tools and power toolsLay and fix stone for walls, buildings, paving and decorative featuresRepair and restore damaged stonework, including repointing buildings across the estateRead and interpret technical drawings and plansAccurately measure and mark stone for cutting and shapingMix and apply mortar and other adhesives as requiredEnsure all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standardsMaintain tools and equipment, ensuring they remain in good working orderAbout you:Previous experience in stonemasonry or constructionSkilled in using hand tools (such as chisels and hammers) and relevant machineryA keen eye for detail and a passion for quality craftsmanshipPhysically fit and capable of handling heavy materialsKnowledge of different stone types and their propertiesStrong basic maths skills for measurements and calculationsA willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditionsAt Whitworth Brothers ltd, we've been milling quality flour for over 130 years-and we're still growing strong.
