We have an excitingopportunity for a Mechanical Fitters Job in Knaresborough Area???Shifts for mechanical fitter are rotating as follows:Week 1:8:00am 4:00pm, Monday to FridayWeek 2:10:00pm 6:00am, Monday to FridayFlexibility required:Must be willing to work12-hour shiftswhen requested to support operational needs.The Role for Mechanical fitterWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support a busy waste recycling facility based in Knaresborough. You will play a key role in keeping mechanical assets operating safely and efficiently through planned and reactive maintenance, fabrication work, and outage support.Key ResponsibilitiesRectify faults and carry out repairs on mechanical assets includingconveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves and cranes. Carry outfabrication work, refurbishment and general workshop duties. DeliverPPM (planned preventative maintenance)andreactive maintenance, ensuring the highest standards are maintained at all times. Assist with and actively participate inplanned outages/shutdowns. Operate workshop machinery and support fabrication and refurbishment tasks as required. Communicate mechanical problems and concerns promptly to line management to ensure swift resolution. Support delivery ofMaintenance Team KPIsand site performance targets. Effectively use the siteCMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)for logging, reporting, and task updates. Participate inteam briefings and toolbox talksto ensure aligned and safe working practices. Maintain full compliance with siteHealth, Safety, Quality and Environmentalstandards, policies, and procedures. Work safely and efficiently under a safe system of work and in line with site rules. Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses in accordance with site procedures. QualificationsTime-served Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer Mechanical Technical Apprenticeship Level 3 NVQ / BTEC / equivalent in Maintenance Engineering CSE/GCSE (or equivalent) IOSH Managing Safely desirable Skills & ExperienceYou will have proven hands-on experience working with mechanical systems in an industrial environment, ideally within recycling, waste, aggregates, FMCG, heavy engineering, or similar sectors.Essential experience:Conveyor belts and associated systems Valves Gearboxes Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Fabrication and workshop repairs Ability to read and interpretmechanical drawings and technical documents Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability Safety-first mindset with good knowledge of safe systems of workTPBN1_UKTJ
