Location: SaxmundhamContract Type: Temp-PermHours: 45 hours per weekSummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with extensive civil engineering expertise to lead and manage complex infrastructure projects. The role requires strong leadership in delivering heavy civil engineering works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. A key aspect of this position is effective stakeholder engagement, maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will oversee all phases from design and preconstruction through to construction and handover, managing resources, programmes, risk, and commercial performance. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, cost control, and continuous improvement, with a focus on driving project success and client satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesLead project delivery from design through to completion, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and company proceduresProduce and manage financial forecasts, cost control, and monthly performance reportingDevelop and maintain construction programmes and resource plansChair site and stakeholder meetings, ensuring clear communication and accurate record keepingManage and coordinate site investigations, subcontractors, and supply chain partnersPrepare estimates for additional works and support tendering activitiesDrive health, safety, and environmental compliance, setting high standards of leadership in HSE practicesManage quality assurance processes, including Inspection and Test Plans and as-built documentationMaintain strong stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment of project objectives and expectationsFoster a collaborative team environment and support staff developmentSkillsExtensive civil engineering project management experience, particularly in heavy civils, highways & infrastructure.Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship managementProven ability to manage direct labour and subcontractorsExcellent communication, leadership, and team management skillsSound commercial awareness and cost control expertiseProficient in programme and risk managementAbility to challenge designs and resolve complex problemsExperience with contract management, preferably NEC contractsStrong planning and organisational skillsAbility to work independently and deliver projects with minimal supervisionSoftware/ToolsPrimavera P6 or equivalent project management softwareMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Certifications & StandardsDegree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalentCSCS Manager's Card (Black Card)SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)NEBOSH Construction Certificate (preferred)Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification (preferred)Knowledge of NEC contracts, including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanismsTPBN1_UKTJ
