Health and Safety Advisor Industrial Operations

Looking for a Health and Safety role where you can genuinely influence how a site operates?We are recruiting for a growing UK energy business that is investing in its people, facilities and operational standards.This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out on site, building relationships and helping managers, employees and contractors work more safely.You do not need to come directly from Energy from Waste.We are keen to hear from Health and Safety professionals with experience in power generation, utilities, manufacturing, engineering, waste, recycling, chemicals, construction, logistics or another safety-critical industrial environment.You will join a highly collaborative business led by an entrepreneurial senior team. The culture is supportive, fast-moving and practical, with good ideas welcomed and decisions made quickly.What will you be doing? You will become a key member of the site team, providing practical advice and helping improve health and safety standards across day-to-day operations.Your responsibilities will include:Building a positive and proactive safety cultureSupporting managers with practical HSE adviceCompleting site inspections and safety auditsInvestigating incidents, near misses and unsafe conditionsIdentifying root causes and monitoring corrective actionsReviewing risk assessments, RAMS and safe systems of workMonitoring contractor safety and permit complianceSupporting employee and contractor inductionsImproving site procedures and management systemsSupporting ISO 45001 complianceProducing clear reports for operational and Group leadersSupporting shutdowns, maintenance projects and high-risk activitiesWhat are we looking for? You should have:NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent qualificationExperience in a live industrial, engineering or operational workplacePractical knowledge of UK health and safety legislationExperience conducting audits, inspections and investigationsConfidence working with operational teams and contractorsThe ability to challenge poor practice positively and constructivelyStrong communication, organisation and reporting skillsExperience in energy, waste, recycling, utilities, manufacturing, process engineering or heavy industry would be particularly relevant.ISO 45001 experience, an auditing qualification or formal incident-investigation training would be advantageous.What makes this opportunity different?
