Freight Customer Services Operator

A major UK & International Freight Forwarding company is looking to add a Freight Customer Services Operator to their expanding team. The ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service skills plus freight experience, either in Road, Air or Ocean/Sea, they will look at anyone with any freight experience in any mode of transport.ROLE: Freight Customer Services BASIC SALARY: £28k to £30k LOCATION: Essex HOURS: 9am to 5pmROLE: A Customer Service role in the international freight export department has become available. The role will focus on supporting our European partners with enquiries and order management on bookings from our UK based customers. The person we are looking for must be a good communicator, have a positive outlook and a clear focus on high job quality.The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the customer service supervisor, will be responsible for dealing with bookings from UK customers and dealing with day-to-day enquiries related to UK export shipments, investigating issues and liaising with other internal departments.The applicant must be proactive, organised and punctual, inquisitive and motivated as well as good attention to detail.The main part of the job is to deal with bookings received from customers and partners support European partners, investigate and respond to enquiries related to the shipments from UK into Europe mainly via email and phone.Timely and effective communication with customers, partners and internal departments via email/telephone. Updating /verifying the Order Management System with customer booking details and customs details.Liaise with operations and overseas offices to ensure customer commitments are delivered upon.Effective monitoring to ensure deliveries are completed within the agreed timelines.Ensure that all collection consignments are conforming to correct information.Pro-active problem solving with customers and colleagues when issues arise.Comply with and understand customs regulations when transporting freight from the UKResolve Credit Management Queries where necessary.General Day to Day administrative duties.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Must possess some Freight experience, ideally road export customer services but can be import or export, road, air or sea/ocean.
