Plater / FabricatorLocation: South West / North DevonEmployment type: Long term PAYE opportunityIndustry: Marine, defence and heavy engineeringPay£24.88 per hour PAYE£37.32 per hour overtime after 40 hours per week£33.09 per hour nights£400 weekly travel and lodge allowanceEstimated gross weekly earnings45 hours days: £1,581.80 per week67 hours days: £2,402.84 per week45 hours nights: £1,910.22 per week67 hours nights: £2,731.26 per weekWe are looking to speak with experienced Platers and Fabricators for upcoming long-term engineering work in the South West.This opportunity would suit candidates with a background in marine, defence, dockyard, shipbuilding, ship repair, structural fabrication or heavy engineering. The South West has a strong long-term marine and defence engineering market, including major dockyard and infrastructure activity around Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.The work is expected to suit experienced tradespeople who are comfortable working on large-scale engineering programmes where accuracy, safety and quality are essential.Key dutiesMarking out, cutting and preparing steel plate and structural componentsFabricating and assembling components from engineering drawingsFitting plates, stiffeners, brackets, frames and structural sectionsCarrying out dimensional checks before weldingUsing thermal cutting, grinding and fabrication equipment safelyTack welding and preparing completed assemblies for weldersIdentifying and correcting alignment or fit-up issuesWorking closely with welders, fabricators and production teamsMaintaining high standards of safety and housekeepingExperience requiredStrong plating or fabrication experienceExperience in marine, defence, dockyard, shipbuilding, structural steel or heavy engineering environmentsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsConfident marking out and fabricating accurately from drawingsExperience working with heavy plate and structural steelCompetent using cutting, grinding and fabrication equipmentAbility to work independently and as part of a production teamThis is a long term PAYE opportunity with further details available once suitability has been confirmed.To apply, please send your CV outlining your FCAW experience, current location and availability.TPBN1_UKTJ
