Job Description
Are you a practical HSE Advisor looking for more ownership, visibility and influence?We are recruiting for a fast-growing UK energy business with an entrepreneurial leadership team, ambitious growth plans and a genuinely collegiate culture.This is a business where people work closely together, decisions are made quickly and good ideas are acted upon.You will join a busy operational energy and waste-processing facility in Lanarkshire, working closely with the Plant Manager, Operations Team and Group Health and Safety leadership.This is not a desk-based compliance role.You will be visible across the site, building strong relationships with employees, managers and contractors while taking ownership of day-to-day health and safety performance.The role You will be responsible for:Providing practical health and safety advice across the siteLeading audits, inspections and risk assessmentsInvestigating incidents, near misses and unsafe conditionsCompleting root-cause analysis and tracking corrective actionsManaging contractor safety, RAMS and permit complianceSupporting behavioural safety and employee engagementReviewing and improving site policies and proceduresSupporting ISO 45001 and wider management systemsProducing clear HSE reports for site and Group leadershipSupporting planned maintenance shutdowns and outage activityAdvising on safe systems of work and operational riskLiaising with contractors, regulators and external stakeholdersWhat we are looking for You should have:NEBOSH General Certificate or higherExperience in a live industrial, engineering or operational environmentA background in energy from waste, power generation, biomass, waste, recycling, utilities, process manufacturing or heavy industryExperience of audits, inspections and incident investigationsStrong contractor-management experienceGood knowledge of UK health and safety legislationKnowledge of ISO 45001 or similar management systemsThe confidence to challenge unsafe practices constructivelyA practical, visible and collaborative approachWhy apply?
