The Role\n

The Executive Director at Howden Group leads a dynamic team within the Cyber and Technology practice. The position drives business growth, delivers flawless client service, and manages high-value accounts.

Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Shape and drive the global cyber wholesale strategy, lead market-facing teams, and oversee placement of complex cyber insurance programs across international markets.
  • \n
  • Lead the execution of the Cyber strategy to achieve growth, improve shareholder value, and ensure compliance.
  • \n
  • Meet agreed business targets, motivate the team to achieve objectives, and develop and implement effective business plans.
  • \n
  • Provide regular management reports and contribute to tactical strategies.
  • \n
  • Take the lead in broking complex placements and ensuring positive client experiences through tailored, disciplined solutions.
  • \n
  • Act as a senior technical expert within the team, guiding and mentoring junior members.
  • \n
  • Coordinate market negotiations to deliver the best balance of quality, service, and pricing.
  • \n
  • Ensure risk management infrastructure is in place and promote a positive risk culture across the team.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director and Head of Team to identify and implement new business opportunities.
  • \n
  • Ensure the successful implementation of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • \n
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with collaborators and customers to uphold excellent service standards and enhance the company’s reputation.

Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Extensive experience in broking, account management, or technical expertise in cyber insurance.
  • \n
  • Proven ability to develop business plans, manage budgets, and deliver successful business results.
  • \n
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance sector and regulatory environment, with a strong understanding of its commercial competence.
  • \n
  • Advanced knowledge of data, technology, and emerging trends within the insurance market.
  • \n
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior collaborators.
  • \n
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a track record of managing teams effectively.
  • \n
  • Ability to navigate complex issues, make decisive decisions, and manage change in a dynamic environment.
  • \n
  • Team player with resilience, tenacity, and the ability to collaborate across different teams and departments.
  • \n
  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent); A level or equivalent (desirable); LLMIT (the Lloyd’s and London Market Introductory Test) where relevant.
  • \n
  • Degree in commerce or business-related disciplines (desirable) or substantial commercial experience in lieu; ACII qualification or relevant industry certifications preferred.
