Job Description

The RoleThe Foundry Testing Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of semiconductor devices manufactured at the foundry. The role involves wafer sort, final test, yield analysis, test program development, and close collaboration with design, process, and manufacturing teams to optimise test coverage and production yield.Key ResponsibilitiesTest Development & ExecutionDevelop, debug, and maintain ATE test programs for wafer sort and final testDefine test flows, limit setting, binning strategies, and fault coverageSupport new product introduction (NPI) testing activitiesManufacturing & Operations SupportExecute and monitor wafer probing and final test operationsInvestigate and resolve test-related failures, yield loss, and test escapesSupport high-volume manufacturing (HVM) testingYield & Failure AnalysisAnalyze test data to identify yield trends, anomalies, and root causesWork with process and device teams to drive yield-improvement initiativesPerform correlation between wafer sort, final test, and reliability dataEquipment & Tool ManagementWork with ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne and Advantest)Support test hardware: probe cards, load boards, socketsCoordinate equipment qualification, calibration, and change managementCollaboration & DocumentationInterface with design, DFT, process, and reliability teamsPrepare test documentation, reports, and transition packagesSupport customer audits and quality reviews when requiredYour ProfileTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of semiconductor devices and fabrication processesExperience with DFT concepts (Scan, JTAG, BIST, etc.)Proficiency in at least one ATE platform:o Teradyne (UltraFLEX, J750)o Advantest (V93K, T2000)Data analysis using Python, JMP, Excel, or SQLUnderstanding of yield analysis, SPC, and test coverage metricsSoft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in cross-functional and cross-site teamsClear technical communication and documentation skillsTPBN1_UKTJ
