Due to continued growth in demand for our expertise, we have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our experienced and talented Engineering team in our Winchester office.The RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step in their career, working on a diverse range of projects across sectors including education, commercial, retail, industrial and leisure.At Ridge, you will be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, gaining exposure to a wide variety of projects and clients. As a Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for designing systems that enable buildings to perform efficiently, sustainably and safely.Key Responsibilities:Work as part of a design team delivering detailed mechanical building services designsLiaise closely with internal and external project teams, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors and contractorsAttend project group and technical meetingsEnsure designs comply with current legislation and health and safety requirementsAdvise clients and design teams on energy use, sustainability and carbon reduction strategiesDesign site-specific mechanical systems and equipmentOversee and support the installation of building services systemsSpecify maintenance and operational requirements for completed designsUse industry-standard software such as CAD and BIM (Revit) to develop designsCarry out condition surveys and produce technical reports with recommendationsAbout You:We are looking for someone who is technically capable, motivated and keen to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking consultancy.You will have:An accredited degree (or higher qualification) in Building Services Engineering or a related disciplineProven experience in a similar Mechanical Design roleIdeally working towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional institutionStrong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to clients and project teamsA proactive and organised approach, with strong attention to detailAmbition and a willingness to learn and developExperience with industry-standard software such as IES, Hevacomp, AutoCAD and Revit would be beneficial.TPBN1_UKTJ
