Job Description

As Marketing Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the organisations communications, stakeholder engagement and marketing strategy.You will develop a strong understanding of the key sectors, stakeholders and investment propositions, using this insight to lead promotional activity across digital, print and media channels. A key focus will be increasing awareness of the Freeports value proposition and supporting investor engagement.You will be responsible for content development as well as monitoring and evaluating campaign performance, adapting communications strategies as required.This role requires someone comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, with strong relationship building skills and the ability to translate complex policy and investment themes into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Communications StrategyDevelop and deliver the organisations marketing and communications strategy, aligned with overall objectives and investment prioritiesSupport alignment of messaging and activity with regional partners and stakeholdersPlan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channelsContent & Digital ChannelsLead the creation of high-quality content for digital platforms including website, LinkedIn, newsletters, and news updatesProduce engaging materials such as case studies, interviews, webinars, social media content, and editorial featuresEnsure all communications align with organisational messaging and relevant compliance requirementsMaintain and update digital platforms to ensure content remains current and engagingPublic Relations & Media EngagementAct as the lead for proactive media relations and outreachManage incoming media enquiries and coordinate responsesDraft press releases, statements, and briefing materials for spokespeopleBuild and maintain relationships with media contacts and distribution channelsStakeholder CommunicationLead communications with key stakeholders including public sector bodies, investors, landowners, academic institutions, and industry partnersCoordinate messaging and announcement planning with partners to ensure consistency and timing alignmentMaintain and manage stakeholder contact databases and CRM systemsReporting & PlanningTrack and analyse campaign performance, providing insights and reporting to senior leadershipSupport strategic communications planning and recommend improvements based on data and insightPerson SpecificationEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience in marketing, communications, or PR roles, including campaign delivery and content creationStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varied audiencesExcellent organisational and project management skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approachExperience managing digital channels such as websites, LinkedIn, and email newslettersStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skillsFamiliarity with analytics and performance measurement toolsSelf-starter with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approachDesirable ExperienceUnderstanding of property, land development, or investment attraction environmentsExperience within economic development, public sector communications, or investment promotionWhats OfferedHigh-impact role within a nationally significant economic development initiativeOpportunity to shape brand, messaging, and communications during a key growth phaseCollaborative working environment with public, private, and academic partnersSalary £45,000 £50,000 depending on experience, plus pension, income protection, and life assurance benefitsHybrid working model with regular in-person attendance at regional meetings required (approximately one day per week)If you are currently seeking a new challenge and feel you would be a good fit, then please submit an up to date CV by using the apply button below.
