Robert Half are very working in partnership with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join its finance team in Northampton.This is a key position within the business, responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, supporting planning cycles, and providing commercial insight to senior stakeholders.The role sits within a small finance team and offers hybrid working.Role PurposeThe Senior Management Accountant will act as a finance business partner, responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information, supporting decision-making, and driving financial performance across assigned areas of the business.The role requires strong ownership of reporting, planning, and control processes, along with the ability to challenge stakeholders and improve financial outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness partner with stakeholders across multiple areas of the businessOwn monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis and forward-looking commentaryLead budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles, including scenario analysisDeliver management accounts within tight reporting deadlines (typically within 3 working days)Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to senior stakeholdersSupport audit processes and act as a key finance contact for external auditorsOwn balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations and controlsSupport capital expenditure processes, including business case review and trackingIdentify risks, opportunities, and improvements across financial processes and reportingSupport continuous improvement in reporting, systems, and controlsProvide ad-hoc analysis and project support as requiredCandidate ProfileFully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA or equivalent)Strong background in management accounting or finance business partneringExperience working in complex or fast-paced environments desirableStrong financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capabilityExperience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or similar) desirableStrong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholdersHighly organised with ability to manage deadlines and competing prioritiesCommercial mindset with a proactive and improvement-focused approachComfortable working in a hands-on team environmentAdditional InformationHybrid working availableSmall finance team environmentBroad exposure to senior stakeholdersStrong ownership and accountability within roleRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
