Lead EngineerLocation: LeicesterJob Type: Full-time, Permanent Monday to FridaySalary : Up to £52,500 per annumAn experienced engineering professional is required to step into a leadership position, supporting the Engineering Manager while driving operational performance and team development. This role plays a key part in ensuring engineering excellence, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across site operationsKey Responsibilities needed for thisLead Engineer role:Leadership & Team Support:Lead, coach and support a team of engineers, providing hands-on technical guidanceAct as deputy to the Engineering Manager, overseeing activities and budgets when requiredEnsure planned preventative maintenance schedules and corrective works are completed effectivelySupport delivery of training for engineers and operators on equipment and processesCompliance, Safety & StandardsEnsure adherence to QHSE standards, policies and proceduresMaintain compliance with risk assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR and relevant regulationsPromote a strong safety culture and ensure training requirements are metSupport maintenance of industry accreditations and standardsContinuous Improvement & Operational ExcellenceWork closely with production teams to improve equipment performance and OEELead initiatives around sustainability and waste reductionSupport installation, testing and maintenance of plant and equipmentSource spare parts and machinery via approved suppliersSkills & Experience needed for thisLead Engineer role:Strong communication and leadership skillsProven ability to influence and build relationships at all levelsAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilityFinancial awareness including budgeting and forecastingStrong IT skills including Microsoft OfficeQualifications & BackgroundRelevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or apprenticeship)Proven experience within industrial maintenance or production environmentsPrevious supervisory or management experienceExperience in continuous improvement and sustainability initiativesClick Apply, or contact Jamie Garcia - Courtice for more info:Thank you for your application.
