Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Commercial Laundry)Sheffield£38,480 Basic + Regular Overtime (OTE £44,000+) + Company Phone + Excellent BenefitsPermanent | PM ShiftWe are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established commercial laundry business based in Sheffield.This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful family-owned company that has been operating for over 130 years. More importantly, they have built a loyal workforce by genuinely looking after their employees and providing long-term career stability.The company remains family-owned, with the owners actively involved in the business and committed to its future, offering a level of security and stability that is increasingly difficult to find.The RoleWorking as part of a close-knit engineering team of five, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of commercial laundry machinery and equipment to ensure the smooth running of the operation.This role is ideally suited to a mechanically biased engineer who also possesses good electrical fault-finding skills. Formal electrical qualifications are not essential, but you should be comfortable working with electrical systems and diagnosing faults.Key ResponsibilitiesCarrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out fault findingMechanical repairs and component replacementBasic electrical diagnostics and troubleshootingSupporting machinery upgrades and continuous improvement projectsWorking closely with production teams to minimise downtimeMaintaining high standards of health and safetyRequirementsPrevious maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing, production, laundry, FMCG or similar environmentsStrong mechanical maintenance skillsGood electrical knowledge and fault-finding abilityPositive attitude and willingness to learnStrong communication skillsReliable and dependable work ethicAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWorking HoursMonday to FridayPM Shift: 2:30pm - 11:45pm40 hours per weekPlease note: As part of this role, engineers are expected to work an additional 5 hours overtime on either a Saturday or Sunday on approximately 46 weekends per year.
