Transport Planner/Manager - Container HaulageLocation: Stanford-Le-HopeJob Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceWe are recruiting on behalf of a well-established container haulage operator based in Stanford-Le-Hope. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner or Manager to join their busy traffic and planning function. This is a fast-paced role within a port-centric logistics environment, focused on the efficient movement of containers across the UK supply chain.You will play a key role in ensuring daily operations run smoothly, balancing customer requirements, driver availability, and port schedules.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and coordinate daily container movements in and out of London gateway portManage bookings, container releases, and port-related scheduling activityWork closely with drivers, customers, subcontractors, and internal teamsMonitor live operations and resolve issues such as delays, breakdowns, or disruptionsAdjust transport plans in real time to maintain service levelsOptimise fleet utilisation and reduce inefficiencies where possibleSupport operational administration and compliance processesLiaise with port systems and terminal processes as requiredEnsure all work is completed in line with transport regulations and company proceduresJob Skills Required:Previous experience in container transport planning (mandatory)Strong knowledge of UK port operations (highly desirable)Experience within a traffic office or transport coordination roleFamiliarity with systems such as Destin8 or TOPS (advantageous)Strong organisational and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentGood communication skills, both written and verbalStrong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel beneficial)Confident decision-maker with a proactive attitudeCPC qualification (mandatory for Transport Manager level candidates)Package & BenefitsCompetitive salary depending on level and experience28 days holiday including bank holidaysCompany pension schemeCareer progression opportunities within a growing transport operationSupportive and experienced planning team environmentStreamline Search is a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the United Kingdom.
