Import Brokerage Clerk - Road and Sea Freight

New vacancy: Import Brokerage Clerk - Road and Sea FreightWe are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Customs Clearance Coordinator to join their customs team. This office-based role will primarily involve handling UK road freight import customs clearances, with some sea freight entries.Location: Office-basedHours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 17:30Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum (depending on experience)Key Responsibilities Manage the preparation and submission of UK import customs declarations.Process customs entries through CDS using ASM Sequoia.Complete IPAFFS notifications for applicable import shipments.Review import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with customs requirements.Communicate with customers, hauliers, ports and government agencies to support the customs clearance process.Track the progress of customs entries and resolve any clearance issues or delays.Maintain accurate customs records in line with HMRC regulations.Deliver a high standard of customer service by providing timely updates and support throughout the import process.Requirements Previous experience working within a UK customs clearance or brokerage environment.Good understanding of UK import customs legislation and procedures.Hands-on experience processing road freight import declarations.Familiarity with sea freight import customs processes.Proficient in using ASM Sequoia and the CDS platform.Knowledge of IPAFFS and import notification requirements.Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.Confident using Microsoft Office applications.If you have the experience and skills we're looking for and are ready for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
