At Panda, were looking for a skilled Fabricator-Welder to join our Fabrications team in Barkston.This is a hands-on role where youll repair, maintain and refurbish waste containers to a high standard, making sure they are safe, functional, presentable and ready for customer use.As a Fabricator-Welder at Panda, youll be part of a busy operational environment where quality workmanship, safe working practices and attention to detail really matter.What youll be doing Youll carry out a range of welding, fabrication and repair work, supporting the smooth running of the fabrication yard and wider maintenance operation.Your role will include:Carrying out welding, grinding, cutting, burning and general fabrication duties as assigned by the Fabrications/Maintenance ManagerRepairing and maintaining waste containers, ensuring they are fully functional, safe and presentable for customer useMaintaining machinery, tools and equipment to a high standard, promptly reporting any defectsWorking collaboratively with the welding and fabrication team and approved third-party contractorsEnsuring all work areas are free from hazards before starting tasksMaintaining good housekeeping standards within the fabrication yard at all timesSupporting the maintenance workshop with tasks as requiredCleaning down your work area at the end of each shift and following safe working practicesCompleting and submitting relevant documentation such as log sheets, tool checks, inspection reports and other required paperworkCommunicating professionally with customers, colleagues and site personnel while representing PandaThis Fabricator-Welder role would suit someone who takes pride in practical work, enjoys solving problems and understands the importance of keeping equipment safe, reliable and ready for use.Health and safety Safety is central to how we work at Panda. Youll be expected to follow company procedures, use the correct PPE and carry out hot works in line with HSE guidelines and company permit-to-work procedures.Youll also be expected to:Comply with all company Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of workEnsure correct use of PPE at all timesImmediately report any hazards, unsafe conditions, near misses or incidents to the Fabrications ManagerParticipate in SHEQ workshop toursWhat were looking for Were looking for someone with strong fabrication and welding experience, good practical judgement and a safety-first approach.Youll need:NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding, or equivalentProven experience in MIG welding, with additional welding processes beneficialAbility to read and understand technical drawingsExperience using grinders, cutting equipment and general fabrication toolsGood understanding of workshop Health & Safety practicesStrong practical and mechanical skillsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong problem-solving skillsA reliable, safety-driven and proactive approachFull UK driving licence, if operationally requiredIt would be useful if you also have BS EN ISO 9606-1 Welding Qualification, or equivalent coding/certificationIPAF or PASMA certification for working at heightForklift Truck licence, such as counterbalance or telehandlerExperience working in waste, recycling, manufacturing or heavy-duty engineering environmentsHot Works and Fire Safety awareness trainingFirst Aid at Work certificationThis is a great opportunity for a practical Fabricator-Welder who wants a stable, hands-on role in a busy operational business where good workmanship makes a visible difference.About Us We are Panda.
