This is a fantastic opportunity to lead quality improvement, workforce development and awarding organisation compliance within one of the UK's newest prison education environments.You'll play a pivotal role in shaping an outstanding learning culture, supporting tutors and trainers to deliver exceptional teaching while helping prisoners gain the skills and qualifications they need to build brighter futures.If you have experience leading quality within Further Education, Work-Based Learning, Apprenticeships or Adult Education, we'd love to hear from you.About the RoleAs Quality & Development Manager, you'll lead on all aspects of quality assurance and staff development across education and vocational training.Working closely with the Education Department Senior Manager, you'll drive continuous improvement through coaching, professional development, quality assurance, awarding organisation compliance and performance analysis.From delivering teacher training qualifications to preparing for Ofsted and coordinating External Quality Assurance visits, you'll ensure our education provision consistently meets the highest standards.What You'll Be DoingLead quality improvement across education and vocational training.Design and deliver high-quality CPD, teacher training and staff development programmes.Coach, mentor and develop tutors, trainers and curriculum managers to improve teaching practice.Lead Observation of Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLA) activity.Manage relationships with Awarding Organisations and coordinate External Quality Assurance visits.Maintain Centre Approval status and support Direct Claim Status.Monitor learner achievement, quality performance and compliance against key performance indicators.Support the production of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR), Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), Ofsted evidence and performance reports.Lead standardisation activities and promote best practice across the education team.Develop innovative approaches to improve learner outcomes and staff capability.Support the development of resident tutors, peer assessors and education mentors within the prison.What We're Looking ForYou'll be an experienced quality professional with a passion for developing people and driving educational excellence.You'll have:A recognised Level 5 (or above) Teaching Qualification.Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Qualification.Assessor and Internal Quality Assurance experience.Maths and English at Level 2.Experience working within Further Education, Apprenticeships, Adult Learning, Work-Based Learning or a similar education environment.Strong knowledge of awarding organisation requirements, quality assurance processes and inspection frameworks.Experience coaching and developing teaching staff.Excellent organisational, analytical and stakeholder management skills.Why Join Us?This is more than a quality roleit's an opportunity to shape the future of prison education.You'll join a passionate team committed to transforming lives through learning while enjoying:Competitive salaryMonday to Friday working patternExcellent work-life balanceGenerous annual leavePension schemeOngoing professional developmentThe opportunity to influence quality strategy across a flagship education departmentA rewarding career where your work has a genuine social impactMake a Difference Every DayEvery improvement you make to teaching quality has the potential to change someone's future.If you're ready to lead quality, inspire educators and help create an outstanding learning environment at HMP Millsike, we'd love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
