Governess / Educational Mentor Live-Out Essex Location: EssexPosition: Live-OutHours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm 9:30pm | Saturday, 10:00am 5:00pmA highly professional private family based in Essex is seeking an exceptional Governess / Educational Mentor to support their son, who is currently studying for his A-Levels.This is a unique and varied role requiring an intelligent, organised and engaging individual who can provide academic support, mentorship, structure and guidance during a pivotal stage of the young man's educational and personal development.The successful candidate will serve as a trusted mentor and role model, helping him achieve his academic goals, navigate university applications, develop independence and maintain a well-balanced lifestyle.Key Responsibilities Providing academic oversight and support across A-Level studiesAssisting with revision planning, coursework management and examination preparationEncouraging discipline, accountability and effective study habitsSupporting university applications, including UCAS submissions, personal statements and interview preparationActing as a positive mentor and role modelOrganising schedules, appointments and extracurricular commitmentsCoordinating educational, cultural and enrichment activitiesAccompanying the student on UK and international travel when requiredEncouraging independence, confidence and strong life skillsSupporting social development and personal growthPreparing one healthy and nutritious meal each day for the studentMaintaining a structured, organised and positive home environmentLiaising regularly with parents regarding academic progress and developmentCandidate Requirements Previous experience as a Governess, Educational Mentor, Teacher, Tutor or similarDegree educated, with a strong academic backgroundExperience supporting students through A-Level education and university admissionsExcellent organisational and administrative skillsWarm, approachable and emotionally intelligentAble to establish boundaries and encourage personal responsibilityConfident accompanying a young adult in social, educational and travel settingsComfortable preparing simple, healthy mealsFlexible regarding occasional travel requirementsDiscreet, professional and highly presentableThe Opportunity This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a young person's life at a crucial stage of their development.
